Pierogi Feast!

For lunch today we dined on an assortment of the famous Polish dumpling called Pierogi.  Everything from potato and cheese, mushroom, pork, strawberry and apple is tucked into cute little doughy purses.  Some steamed, some browned in butter, they made for a hearty and satisfying meal.  It’s easy to put away a dozen in the blink of an eye.

Peirogi, by the way, is already in the plural form, since nobody ever orders just one.  So no need to ever say "Pierogis" unless you also want to start saying "shoes-es".   Like, "I dropped some Pierogis on my shoes-es" or "My shoes-es look like a couple of giant Pierogis". It’s good to be consistent with these things.
